In a new verse on the track ‘Like That’ taken off Future and Metro Boomin‘s latest project ‘We Don’t Trust You,’ Kendrick Lamar seemingly disses Drake and J. Cole.
Kendrick takes a number of shots throughout his verse, kicking things off with a mention of Drizzy and Cole’s No. 1 single “First Person Shooter”, then directly references “the big three,” which is commonly known as himself, Drake and J. Cole — but claims he’s the only one at the top of the rap chain. Lamar also compares himself to Prince, and the others to Michael Jackson, and that his work will outlive both of them. Lamar also makes note of Drake’s 2023 album For All the Dogs and Stephen King’s 1983 novel Pet Sematary.
We Don’t Trust You was released last week, comprised of 17 songs and including uncredited guest appearances from Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, The Weeknd and Rick Ross. The album takes its title from Metro Boomin’s famous tagline, “If young Metro don’t trust you, I’m gon’ shoot you,” which is said by Future.
