Temperatures are expected to soar toward the 100 degree mark this Father’s Day weekend. The City of Albany and Dougherty County have reactivated cooling stations to provide safe spaces for residents to find relief.

The Albany Transportation Center, 300 W Oglethorpe
Saturday 7am-8pm
Sunday 11am-8pm

Dougherty County Public Library Central Branch, Downtown
Saturday 10am-5pm
Sunday 2pm-6pm

Temperatures are expected to stay in the mid to upper 90s into next week. We’ll update this page with any new information about the reopening of cooling stations if that occurs in the coming days.

Remember to stay hydrated and check on your neighbors – particularly the elderly and families with young children, and don’t forget to keep your pets safe with lots of water and shade. Pavement temperatures will climb higher than air temperatures and can severely burn pet paws.
