Keyshia Cole has revealed a new album is on the way, her first in nearly seven years. Cole’s last album was 2017’s 11:11 Reset.

According to HipHopDX, the 42-year-old made the announcement during a recent show at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, while sharing gratitude for her fans and her late mother, Frankie Lons. Cole said, breaking into tears: “I wanna say I appreciate you. If you ever bought an album. Album eight right now on the way. I wanna give a shout-out to my mom Frankie. If you watched the reality show, if you watched her…I just wanna say thank you. You helped change my life. Thank you.”

The 2023 biopic Keyshia Cole: This Is My Story explored the relationship dynamic between her and her mother, and how it impacted her journey as a musician. Cole’s mother passed away in July 2021 due to an accidental overdose. The 11-track LP 11:11 Reset featured the singles, “You” and “Incapable,” as well as features from DJ Khaled, Young Thug, Remy Ma, French Montana, Kamaiyah and Too $hort.
