The City of Albany has announced it will activate Operation Safe Place to give people a place to stay warm overnight, as Tuesday and Wednesday night temps dip below 30 degrees in southwest Georgia.

The City will open the Albany Transit Center at 300 W. Oglethorpe Boulevard as a warming center on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm until the start of business at 7am on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.

If someone you know may need a place to stay warm, please make sure they know that there is a place to seek refuge.

Water will be provided.
