Lainey Wilson has been cast as musician Abby in a recurring role on the Paramount Network series Yellowstone which returns for Season 5 this fall on November 13th. Wilson’s one of several new castings announced by the network.
Wilson spoke about the news, saying: “This is the first time I’ve said it out loud. So this is my first interview since we announced, this is my first time I’m sayin’ it, I’m gonna be a co-star on season five Yellowstone. You know, she’s gonna be a musician and so I get to play my songs too, it’s perfect. Taylor Sheridan, the writer and producer of the show, called me back in February and was like, ‘I’m creating a character specifically for you.’ And I’m like, ‘Thank you God and thank you Taylor Sheridan.’ It’s a blessing.”
Yellowstone stars Kevin Costner in the lead role of John Dutton, and is co-created by screenwriter Taylor Sheridan and John Linson. The series chronicles the Dutton family, who controls the largest contiguous cattle ranch in the United States. Yellowstone is the No. 1 scripted series across cable and broadcast TV.
