The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has announced the nominees for the 2022 Daytime Emmy Awards, set to air on June 24.
CBS’ The Young and the Restless led the nominations with 18 nods, with ABC’s General Hospital earning 17 and NBC’s Days of Our Lives earning 11. Peacock’s Days of Our Lives: Beyond Salem and CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful were also nominated in the best daytime drama category, which includes five nominated series for the first time since 2014. Days of Our Lives and Beyond Salem are the first series and spinoff, respectively, to be nominated together.
The syndicated talk show The Kelly Clarkson Show earned nine nominations, and The Drew Barrymore Show earned six, with both hosts nominated for outstanding entertainment talk show host. ABC’s The View earned nine nominations, with Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk earning four noms, and the Estefans-hosted spinoff of Red Table Talk earning three noms.
This year’s awards ceremony will be the first that the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (which is behind the Primetime Emmys) announced a shift to genre-based awards rather than time-based awards as part of an effort to ensure the competitions’ continued relevance.
The 49th annual Daytime Emmy Awards will be presented live at 9 p.m. ET on June 24 on CBS, and will also stream on Paramount+.
